Embroidery Stabilisers There are many different types of material to be embroidered, ranging from fine silk to pile fabrics and leather goods and they all require correct thread tensions to ensure good embroidery.
With most materials, it is also important to have a backing fabric not only to stabilise fabrics, but also to ensure the smooth movement of the frame across the base plate of the machine. In addition to providing stability the use of a stabiliser helps to reduce puckering. This problem is closely associated with thread tension being too high, or too many stitches in the design but in most conditions, the correct backing fabric can be a great help in alleviating the problem.
We stock a comprehensive range of ‘Fabric’ stabiliser as well as ‘Soluble’ stabilisers. The Stabilisers sometimes known as Stich & Tear are multidirectional tear and are available in a range of weights, Black and White.
