S-DSV - Sticky Clear Water Soluble Film 1m

S-dSV™ Water-Soluble Adhesive-Backed Stabilizer

S-dSV™ is an exclusive product of Hoop-It-All. Both the adhesive and film completely dissolve in about 3 minutes in room temperature water. This unique product was introduced in 1997 after two years of development and has since been improved 4 times to provide superior handling, adhesive and shelf life.

The base water soluble film used, prior to the adhesive being applied, is also a unique Hoop-It-All product. The film was designed to eliminate the weaknesses of some other (PVOH) water-soluble films, such as stretch, weakness, and a tendency to dry out when exposed to the air and it works a treat. The adhesive coating is factory applied at an ideal thickness of 100% water-soluble adhesive (proprietory formula) and is then protected by a release liner until ready for use.

This water soluble film was originally produced to use with the Hoop-It-All™ giant hoops when embroidering on sheer see-through fabrics. Now it is still a primary stabiliser for Hoop-It-All™ but it is also a Market leader, used for many other applications by those with creative minds.

When using with Hoop-It-All™ hoops, use it in place of the SIA Adhesive Stabilizer on the back of the hoop to hold the fabric in place during the embroidery.

Use S-dSV™ stabiliser for lace edging on handkerchiefs, pillowcases, gloves, etc. using the decorative stitching option of your machine. It can also be used to create lace, hoop sheer fabrics, cut work, bridal illusion, towels, baby garments, and create multi-dimensional appliqué, all using an embroidery machine. The adhesive backing holds the fabric firmly preventing it from slipping or distorting, which can occur with non-adhesive backed water-soluble film. S-dSV dissolves in about one minute in warm tap water leaving no residue on the finished piece.

Both of our S-dSV and dSV products are 300% stiffer than some other water-soluble stabilizers, which provide greater ease of use and handling. They also have 400% less stretch preventing embroidery distortion and puckering.
