Superior 'Superbobs' Pre-wound bobbinsA factory wound pre-wound bobbin with cardboard sides in size 'L' style with The Bottom Line thread. 60 wt. premium polyester.
The factory pre-wound bobbins are wound by high tech machines which provide a smooth, uniform wind, resulting in much more thread on the bobbin than a self-wound bobbin. The tension is regular whereas a home wound bobbin can be tight and loose throughout the wind.
More thread on the bobbin means that you have to change the bobbin less. As a rough guide you normally use 1m of underthread to 2m of top thread.
These prewound bobbins have cardboard sides which are removable. You need only to remove one side, the side where the sensor light is, and the automatic bobbin sensor will still work. By leaving the other side on, the cardboard side will prevent the bobbin from jumping around as it runs low.
Superbobs are sold in packs of 6 of the same colour and in mixed packs of 12.
