Gutermann Shirring Elastic

Gutermann Elastic is a highly elastic thread. Use Elastic for Ruffles, Shirring and smocking, Knitting and crocheting.

The shirring elastic should only be used in the bobbin and as such ends up on the underside of the project.  The elastic gathers up the fabric and reduces its size making it smaller, in most cases about half the original size. This creates a surface texture and a stretchy fit.  Use in various places on your garment to shape and create decorative detail
